(Exercise A)

Proofread the following essay for capitalization and end
punctuation errors. For each sentence correct any errors, or, if
there are no errors, write C above the sentence.

(1) If possible, College Students should try to go to Summer

School. (2) It's a good deal for them! (3) A diligent Student,

working for six short weeks, can complete the equivalent of a

semester's work. (4) by attending Summer School for three

consecutive years, a student can earn a degree in three years,

instead of the usual four. (5) That's a 25 percent decrease? (6)

Even the american Association of summer schools recommends the

practice. (7) summer school courses are usually not as rigorous as

those given during the Fall and Spring semesters? (8) for

instance, in a regular Semester, a course might cover all of

shakespeare's major plays, but in a summer course only hamlet,

romeo and juliet, king lear and a midsummer night's dream would be

discussed. (9) All instructors recognize that reading and studying

time is at a Premium during the summer.

(10) That, of course, brings us to the Problems associated with summer school! (11) Everyone recognizes (i most certainly do) that there are many Temptations during the summer which tend to distract us from Studying. (12) for example, Who wants to study at the beach. (13) Who will decline tickets to a beach boys' concert because he or she is supposed to attend class that night? (14) I certainly want to hear them sing "i wish they all could be California girls." (15) Obviously, Summer School requires Personal Discipline and Compromises. (16) Overall, though, going to summer school is still a wise decision. (17) If a group of friends can attend together, they can pool their efforts. (18) that decreases the burdens and may even increase the fun. (19) Instead of being Tempted to join friends at the Beach, everyone can meet on the Lawn and study there. (20) That's a nice compromise?
