The Hunter College Reading/Writing Center Computing Facility provides support to the Hunter College community to most effectively use technology available to them, in the classroom, office and on the Internet. The Reading/Writing Center's instructional and technical staff work collaboratively to offer a unique comprehensive support service on campus.

Registered students have access to 122 networked PC-based computer systems with full Internet service and educational software that focus on critical reading, as well as writing skills and strategies. We also have an extensive menu of publishing and web design tools that allows students to use technology creatively to enhance their project work, presentations, and reports. Students can sign up for free computer workshops that instruct them on discipline-specific citation styles, career search strategies and at the same time sharpen their computer skills. Topics include Creating Effective PowerPoint Presentation, MLA Documented Essay/Research Paper, Writing a Resume & Cover Letter, and Using Job Search Resources on the Web. Faculty can consult with the computer facility coordinator to plan a computer lab session, preview software, or to procure other services. Faculty can also reserve a computer lab for class session(s) or request a class orientation on conducting Academic Research on the Web, Formatting Essay/Research paper in MLA Documentation, or introducing the class to specific programs or resources available.
